Rhema University, Nigeria Receives Full Accreditation for its Nursing Science and Computer Science Programmes

Following the November/December 2022 accreditation visits by the National Universities Commission (NUC), Rhema University, Nigeria, Aba has now received full accreditation for its Nursing and Computer Science programmes with a score of 75.5% and 79.2% respectively.

The news of the successful accreditation exercise was conveyed to the university in a letter dated March 9, 2023, and signed by the Commission’s Deputy Director (Programme Accreditation), Architect S.S Ikani.

According to the National Universities Commission, the accreditation is valid for a period of five years after which the programmes will be revisited. More importantly, it confers recognition on the university’s Nursing Science and Computer Science programmes, as well as validity on degrees awarded by both departments.

Speaking on the outcome of the accreditation exercise, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Ogbonnaya Onwudike said that the accreditation of these programmes by the National Universities Commission is cheery news for both the students and staff of the university.

He, however, stressed that full accreditation by the NUC places a huge burden on the university to re-double its efforts and to ensure that the university maintains and surpasses the current standards in readiness for the next accreditation visit billed for 2027.

The National Universities Commission is statutorily mandated by the Federal Government of Nigeria to accredit academic programmes in all Nigerian Universities.

Earlier, Rhema University had received accreditation from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria for courses offered by her College of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Established in 2010, Rhema University, Nigeria has for over a decade been at the forefront of advancing higher education in Nigeria. At Rhema University, our focus is on equipping humanity for excellence.
